Spice King is a complex malt whisky with many layers to its spicy personality. Complexly sweet yet salty, layered with spices and peppery smoke makes for an ideal alternative to rye or spiced rum.

A rich marmalade glaze on baked pastries with a dusting of cinnamon. Baked syrup sponge smothered with salted caramel sauce with aromas of orange blossom and well-polished wood.

PALATE

Peat Chimney introduces you to nuanced, smoky yet balanced flavours, gently easing you into the peaty whisky style.

NOSE

Reminiscent of standing on the seashore with wet shells, tangled hemp rope and driftwood. Fragrant heather smoke drifts over baked peach and apricot with hints of orange peel.

PALATE

Warm peat smoke puffs over a shot of espresso laced with muscovado sugar. A flinty freshness gives way to crisp apple and pear crumble with toasted oatmeal.

Our recipe for Darnley’s Original was inspired by elderflower growing wild around the Wemyss family estate in Scotland.

After picking copious amounts to dry out and then test in the stills, we knew we wanted to create a light, floral, citrus flavoured gin in the London Dry Style which honours our distillers past.

Pine needles, juniper, elderflower, cloudy lemonade, floral notes

Taste

Grapefruit, juniper followed by a mellow spice

Finish

Long and dry, with a twist of floral and fruit characters from the elderflower.

Our Navy Strength edition of our award-winning Spiced Gin was inspired by the illustrious Royal Navy career of our ancestor Sir Rosslyn Wemyss, who commanded ships around the world and rose to the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. During his time at sea, ships’ officers still enjoyed a daily ration of gin which had to pass a gunpowder test to prove it was over 57% alcohol and therefore Navy Strength.

Using the same botanicals as Darnley’s Spiced Gin, we have added more juniper to our recipe and increased the proof to bring you a bold Navy Strength gin with intense warming spice flavour.

Nose

Clementine, nutmeg, spruce, cinnamon, freshly grated black pepper.

Taste

Ginger, citrus with a sweet and fresh character.

Finish

Ginger, cinnamon, rich fruit, milled pepper and orange rind mixes well with the spice.
